Abstract

Malaria continues to be a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in many low- and middle-income countries, including Southeast Asia. Key preventive approaches focus on large scale distribution of insecticide treated nets (ITN) and implementation of indoor and outdoor residual spraying for high risk populations. Advancement toward malaria elimination is strongly influenced by how consistently and appropriately these preventive interventions are implemented and used at the community level. National level evidence on insecticide-treated net utilization across Southeast Asia remains scarce, highlighting an urgent need to determine its pooled prevalence. To address this gap, a systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to evaluate the utilization of insecticide treated nets and potential determinants across Southeast Asia.
