Abstract

Do structured reflection activities help students learn to code from practice and (AI-generated, personalized) explanatory feedback? By scaffolding and increasing active engagement with feedback, these activities may help students learn more from each practice question and help struggling-learners manage their cognitive load. However, they will also limit the number of distinct practice problems that students will be able to complete in a fixed amount of time.
