Determinants of Nurses’ Intention to Stay in Long-Term Care Settings: A Systematic Review
Abstract
This systematic review aims to identify and synthesize empirical evidence on the determinants influencing nurses’ intention to stay in long-term care (LTC) settings. Given the persistent global shortage of nursing staff and the increasing demand for long-term care services due to population aging, understanding the factors that contribute to nurse retention in LTC facilities is critically important. This review focuses on examining individual, organizational, professional, and contextual determinants associated with nurses’ intention to remain working in long-term care environments, including nursing homes, residential care facilities, and other LTC institutions
