Abstract

This scoping review aims to map participatory science and research in the field of sport and physical activity. Despite their growing development, the forms, conceptual frameworks, and implementation conditions of these approaches remain poorly documented in this context. The review will describe the extent, nature, and objectives of existing participatory research, identify the theoretical frameworks and psychological processes involved, and examine key facilitators and barriers to implementation. By comparing sport and physical activity contexts, it will highlight specificities and commonalities between these two fields. The expected outcomes will provide a structured overview of current knowledge, identify methodological and conceptual gaps, and offer a foundation to guide future research and the development of participatory interventions adapted to sport and physical activity contexts.
