Motor imagery as an effective approach to enable neuroplasticity among sports athletes: A scoping review
Abstract
**Short Description:** This scoping review examines motor imagery (MI) as a mental training technique that promotes neuroplasticity in sports athletes. By mentally rehearsing movements without physical execution, MI activates brain regions involved in motor control and supports cortical reorganization. Evidence suggests that MI enhances motor learning, skill performance, and neural adaptability, making it a valuable adjunct to physical training in sports.
