Abstract

This project is a scoping review of pivotal phase II and III trials and selected prospective observational studies evaluating antiemetic prophylaxis for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). The primary objective is to describe how older adults, particularly those aged ≥65 and ≥70 years, have been included and reported in these studies, with a focus on age distributions, age-related eligibility criteria, performance status, and the completeness of reporting, including age-stratified outcomes where available. Eligible studies will be identified from clinical practice guidelines and targeted searches of bibliographic databases. Two reviewers will independently screen records, extract data using a standardized form, and assess the completeness and transparency of reporting. The findings will be synthesized descriptively and narratively. By clarifying patterns of underrepresentation and transparency deficits affecting older adults in antiemetic research, this review is expected to highlight gaps in the current evidence base and inform more inclusive trial design and reporting in future studies.
