Abstract

Post-acute infection syndrome (PAIS), which includes Post-/Long-Covid and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), poses an increasing burden on healthcare systems. These conditions can have a significant impact on patients, affecting their physical, psychological and social well-being. Diagnostic procedures and treatment options are often insufficiently standardised, and gaps in care lead to further difficulties for patients. This scoping review aims to provide a systematic overview of current diagnostic and therapeutic methods, as well as existing barriers to care.
