Replication of McCabe and Castel (2008): Investigating the effect of neuroimages on judgements of scientific credibility
Abstract
This study aims to replicate Experiment 3 from McCabe and Castel (2008), which investigated whether the presence of neuroimages influences judgments of scientific credibility. Participants read a scientific news-style article accompanied by either a neuroimage or a control image and rated the credibility of the explanation using rating scales. The study uses a quantitative experimental, between-participants design to examine whether neuroimages increase perceived scientific credibility.
