Abstract

This scoping review maps the literature on palliative care nursing competencies in digitally mediated practice environments, examining how core capabilities—such as symptom management, communication, and ethical decision-making—are being redefined, enabled, or assessed through technologies like telehealth, virtual simulation, and remote monitoring. Following JBI methodology and PRISMA-ScR guidance, it asks: what is known about the competencies nurses need when palliative care intersects with digital transformation? By charting study characteristics, digital-competency linkages, and evidence gaps, the review provides a foundational map for competency governance, education, and health informatics research in an increasingly digitised care landscape.
