Abstract

This project conducts a systematic scope review on exercise intervention in the nursing care of elderly patients with osteosarcopenia—a prevalent geriatric syndrome combining sarcopenia and osteoporosis that threatens older adults’ quality of life, functional independence, and survival. Aimed at mapping the current evidence base amid fragmented interdisciplinary literature, the review will identify and categorize exercise types, describe intervention protocols and target population characteristics, summarize measured outcomes, explore implementation barriers and facilitators, and highlight research gaps, adhering to the JBI methodological framework through systematic searches of key databases (e.g., PubMed, CINAHL, Embase) and independent reviewer processes. Its findings will offer actionable guidance for clinical nursing practice, policy development, and future research, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes and quality of life for older adults with osteosarcopenia via evidence-informed care.
