Abstract

In addictive behaviors, delay discounting and impulsivity are regarded as important features. Several studies have examined the relationship between delay discounting and addictive online behaviors, including use of social media, online gambling, and online gaming. The present scoping review aims to summarize the existing literature examining associations between use of social media (including problematic use of social media; PUSM) and delay discounting. To our knowledge, no previously registered scoping review protocols have focused specifically on this topic.
