Abstract

VRxBioRelax is an end-to-end biofeedback platform that captures surface EMG signals from the upper-trapezius muscle, processes them in real time, and visualizes muscle activation within a Unity-based virtual environment synchronized to a progressive muscle-relaxation protocol. Through MQTT streaming of Delsys Trigno® Avanti sensor data and optimized rendering pipelines, this study wanted to proof that the system achieves an average end-to-end latency of just 25 ms-well below the 30 ms comfort threshold for VR applications-ensuring seamless sensorimotor coupling. This pre-clinical validation demonstrates VRxBioRelax’s potential for remote interoceptive training, stress-reduction therapy, telepresence rehabilitation, and future clinical trials
