Abstract

Abstract / Project Summary: This registration establishes the definitive physical, geological, and gemological holotype characterization for Calvariadeite (Specimen Identifier: CAL_2180_PL), a newly documented mineral specimen of exceptional gemstone quality. This dataset serves as the immutable digital record of the physical specimen's diagnostic parameters, establishing scientific priority and providing an exhaustive diagnostic profile for independent verification. Characterized by a unique macro-twinned crystal seeds structure imparting extraordinary toughness, the specimen exhibits a high refractive index, distinct diamagnetic behavior, and an exceptional aesthetic presentation. The validated parameters compiled herein isolate CAL_2180_PL from known look-alikes and establish its distinct position within systemic mineralogy. Diagnostic Metric Suite: Taxonomy / Status: Mineral Gemstone Quality Holotype Specimen ID: CAL_2180_PL Mass: 2,135 carats (ct) Specific Gravity (SG): 3.15813 Mohs Hardness: 7.2 – 7.5 (Demonstrated via diagnostic scratch testing: scratch-positive on red jasper; scratch-negative on black tourmaline) Optical Refractive Index (RI): High, measured at 1.8 Optical Phenomena: Intense scintillation and distinct luster profiles Thermal/Electrical Conductive Response: Completely unresponsive to the Presidium Diamond Mate-A (confirming non-diamond, non-moissanite chemistry) Magnetic Susceptibility: Distinctly Diamagnetic Structural Mechanics: Strong/Exceptional Toughness determined by an intricate Macro-Twinned Crystal Seeds Structure Data Architecture Context: This record functions as the primary material descriptor. Cross-platform verification, collaborative worksheets, and legacy structural iterations are cross-linked across the Open Science infrastructure via Zenodo (Primary Scientific Record), Figshare (Specific Metric Focus), and the OSF Project Framework.
