Abstract

This publication presents the consolidated scholarly formulation of Order-Window Dynamics (OWD), a carrier-based framework for analysing viability, transition, and failure in open dissipative systems. It substantially revises and extends the preceding working paper by formalising spatially resolved viability margins, directed coupling, bounded operating windows, history dependence, thermodynamic admissibility, uncertainty, and explicit falsification criteria. Cross-domain development cases from fluid mechanics, fusion-plasma exhaust, critical heat flux, tropical cyclones, and hypersonic combustion are used to constrain the framework, not as independent validation. Prospective confirmatory studies are reserved for subsequent publications. The earlier working paper is linked as the conceptual and developmental predecessor of this manuscript.
