Effects of Physical Exercise-Based Interventions on Active Aging: A Rapid Review
Abstract
This protocol describes a rapid systematic review aimed at synthesizing evidence on the effects of exercise- and physical activity–based interventions on active aging among community-dwelling older adults. Active aging is conceptualized according to the World Health Organization (WHO) as a multidimensional process that optimizes physical, cognitive, psychological, and social functional capacity to promote independence and quality of life. Given population aging and the increasing burden of functional decline, this review seeks to consolidate evidence relevant to nursing practice, public health, and community-based care.
