Abstract

The RC Posture™ names a disciplined stance of descriptive restraint in which experience is attended to without interpretation, intervention, or therapeutic aim. Within Somatic & Physical Literacy™ (SPL), this posture functions as the ethical and epistemic guardrail that prevents practitioners, researchers, and witnesses from converting another's experience into meaning, treatment, or narrative closure. Rather than offering a new modality, RC Posture specifies how one remains with the appearance of sensation, timing, and orientation while withholding advice, analysis, and correction. This white paper outlines the structure of the posture, distinguishes it from neutrality, detachment, and avoidance, and situates it in relation to phenomenology, care ethics, and somatic practice. It further clarifies how RC Posture supports the Quiet Body Gap™, constrains the Demandingness Spiral™, and provides a consistent frame for working with embodied description across clinical, educational, and research settings.
