A Structural and Semantic Reconstruction of the Phaistos Disc as a Ritual Procedural System
Abstract
This study applies the Sigilith multi‑layer symbolic decoding framework to the Phaistos Disc, producing a complete structural and semantic reconstruction without relying on linguistic assumptions. Through ten sequential analytical passes — including symbolic field establishment, structural extraction, redundancy collapse, operator identification, semantic resolution, and full ritual reconstruction — the Disc is revealed to encode a four‑phase ritual‑procedural sequence. The spiral functions as a symbolic path, clusters represent compound ritual actions, operators mark phase transitions, and rare symbols act as boundary markers. The result is the first coherent, non‑linguistic decode of the Disc as a ritual transformation system, framed for reproducibility, citation, and archival longevity.
