LANL ensures the safety, security, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent and tackles emerging national security and global threats. SNL maintains the U.S. nuclear stockpile, while LLNL develops and applies science and technology to ensure the safety, security, and reliability of the nation’s nuclear deterrent.
