MULTICRITERIA CROP SELECTION IN CHAD: CONTRIBUTION OF THE AHP METHOD TO AGRICULTURAL OPTIMIZATION
Abstract
This study presents a multi-criteria decision-making approach to identify optimal agricultural crops in Chad in a context marked by data imprecision. AHP method was used to evaluate fifteen indicators divided into economic, environmental and social criteria. Two decision-making profiles were considered: one giving priority to the economic dimension, the other giving more importance to social aspects. The results reveal that peanut is the crop ranked highest in the economic dominated scenario, while corn appears as the most favorable option in the social criteria-oriented profile. The sensitivity analysis confirms the stability of the rankings obtained. The approach developed thus offers a relevant tool to support the orientation of regional agricultural policies.
