Prospects of oil and gas bearings of deep horizons of the Oktyabrske field
Abstract
Background. The paper examines the results of drilling wells on the Oktyabrska area in past periods. The reasons for the insignificant gas inflows from previously drilled wells are identified. For this purpose, a model of gas-saturated geological bodies is built using volumetric distributions of seismic hydrocarbon indicator values. Methods. The prospects of oil and gas potential of deep-seated horizons of the Lower and Middle Carboniferous within the Oktyabrska deposit have been analyzed. It has been shown that for Middle Carboniferous deposits, the main factor in detecting hydrocarbon deposits is the use of their seismic indicators. For deeper Lower Carboniferous deposits, hydrocarbon deposits are associated with the presence of both structural and non-structural hydrocarbon traps. In all cases, the analysis of seismic indicators is necessary to assess the probability of detecting hydrocarbon deposits. Results. To explain the negative results of well drilling in previous years, volumetric distributions of seismic indicators of hydrocarbons for the Oktyabrsky field were calculated and a volumetric digital model of geological bodies promising for the presence of hydrocarbons was constructed. Examples of the detection of new non-structural and structural traps for deeply immersed horizons of the Lower and Middle Carboniferous within the Oktyabrsky field are given. Сonclusions. The results obtained allow us to determine the directions of further exploration and development of the Oktyabrsky field. The authors' conclusions are confirmed by the results of drilling a new well 1 - Oktyabrska. The article may be useful for scientists and geologists of oil companies.
