The article presents the historical stages of development of the Department of Epidemiology at Perm State Medical University named after Academician Ye. A. Vagner over 85 years. The paper also highlights the department’s scientific research areas and its experience in collaborating with healthcare authorities, medical institutions, and Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).
