Research data supporting "Active Shell Engineering for Efficient Cascade Triplet Energy Transfer in Lanthanide Heterostructures"
Abstract
The provided dataset contains the source data of main figures for the research project investigating cascade triplet energy transfer (TET) in lanthanide-doped nanoparticle (LnNP) heterostructures. The project focuses on the design, synthesis, and optical characterisation of NaYbF4@CaF2:Nd@9-anthracenecarboxylic acid (ACA) core/active-shell/organic molecule heterostructures, with the goal of simultaneously achieving surface passivation and efficient molecular sensitization in LnNPs. The dataset contains: size distribution of NPs with varied shell thicknesses; photoluminescence (PL) emission/excitation/decay spectra of NPs and NPs-ACA under different excitation conditions; picosecond and nanosecond transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy data, and ligand exchange optimization data including concentration-, time-, and washing-cycle-dependent absorption and PL responses. The data are provided as an Excel file containing tabulated numerical values corresponding to each main figure panel. No proprietary software is required for access; the data are readable with standard spreadsheet or scientific plotting software. Sample Nomenclature: C (Core): Bare NaYbF4 core nanoparticles without any shell coating. C, diameter: 7.2 nm. CS1–CS6 (Core-Shell 1–6): A series of NaYbF4@Ca0.8F2:Nd0.2 core-shell nanoparticles with systematically increasing shell thickness. CS1, diameter: 8.8 nm CS2, diameter: 10.0 nm CS3, diameter: 11.1 nm CS4, diameter: 12.2 nm CS5, diameter: 13.1 nm CS6, diameter: 16.4 nm
