Biological Communities

This document describes the data flow of biological community information into the DOME data portal and database. The data hosted at ICES are primarily collected by research institutions in OSPAR and HELCOM member countries. HELCOM sets an annual deadline for data submissions and issues an additional data call prior to a planned holistic assessment. OSPAR issues a data call prior to their assessment. The governance of biological community information is shared between OSPAR and HELCOM, with each regional convention governing their respective data stream.
