Baltic Salmon and Trout Assessment Working Group (WGBAST)

The Baltic Salmon and Trout Assessment Working Group (WGBAST) is undergoing a benchmark in 2026 – the Benchmark Workshop on Baltic salmon stocks (WKBBS). The group met in Copenhagen from 18-22 May for a combined WGBAST/WKBBS meeting. All work in 2026 has been allocated to benchmark tasks, and no new assessments were carried out for salmon or trout. The group refer to the WGBAST annual report from 2025 to contain the best available science and information available on these issues.
