Conditions of access of Polish emigrants in Italy to pension benefits
Abstract
Poles who have taken up employment in Italy, after meeting certain conditions regarding the contribution period and retirement age, acquire the right to receive pension benefits in accordance with the Italian social security system. The aim of the article is to present the regulations concerning the payment of pensions for Polish emigrants working in Italy. In addition, the article presents the challenges related to the transfer of pensions to Polish and possible ways to improve administrative procedures, taking into account EU regulations and regulations in Poland and Italy. It touches on issues related to the activities of the Istituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale in the perspective of pension benefits for Polish emigrants and describes Polish institutions and organizations par ticipating in the process of providing pension benefits for emigrants in Italy. The analysis shows that obtaining the right to retirement benefits is subject to a complicated procedure requiring the fulfillment of many administrative formalities and compliance with detailed provisions of interna tional law. Cooperation between the Polish and Italian social security institutions in granting Italian pensions to Polish citizens requires better coordination, implementation of digital solutions and improved access to information, which will shorten the processing time and increase social security. It is also important to promote migration education to facilitate formal and financial preparation for the pension procedure for emigrants.
