Blackbody impedance model
Abstract
Models of black anisotropic bodies are proposed, realized by a fine lattice of orthogonal impedance bands with generally variable orientation on the surface. Using flat surfaces and bodies of arbitrary shape as examples, it is shown that the impedance of a black anisotropic body is a complex quantity, the real part of which (resistance) can take both positive and negative values. Sectors of incidence angles at which the resistance vanishes are found, defining the boundary where it becomes negative. It is shown that an impedance black surface is a model of a non-reflecting plane on which the Brewster effect is observed.
