Energy method of blood pressure assessment
Abstract
Everyday measurement of blood pressure (BP) by patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases is an integral part of the prevention and assessment of the dynamics of pathology. Currently, oscillometric methods are most popular in measuring blood pressure. However, the task of determining systolic and diastolic pressures by the oscillometric method does not have a final solution due to the strong influence of external interference on the pressure assessment result. The aim is to propose a noise-proof energy method for assessing blood pressure, based on establishing the relationship between the power of oscillations and the power of the pulse wave of the arteries. Energy model of volumetric pressure wave and models of wave channels of blood pressure transmission were obtained, which confirmed validity of energy approach. An experimental test of the proposed energy method for assessing blood pressure was carried out, which showed its high noise immunity. Disclosed is a noise-proof energy method of estimating arterial pressure, which proves that the power of oscillations recorded by the tonometer is proportional to the power of oscillations generated by the pulsating artery.
