The problem of automatic formation of a block of metadata for scientific documents is investigated. The annual growth in the volume of scientific publications leads to the need to process and structure metadata, which often contains errors, inaccuracies or are incomplete. Manual generation and refinement of metadata requires considerable time and does not provide high accuracy. As part of the current study, a system that automatically generates metadata blocks for scientific documents using data from scientific publication search services and open knowledge bases is being implemented to address these problems. The implemented solution provides automation of the process of extracting, clarifying and supplementing the metadata of scientific publications in order to subsequently form an electronic collection of scientific documents for Lobachevskii-DML in accordance with accepted international standards.
