Abstract

Continuous variables were summarized as mean ± standard deviation or median and interquartile range, depending on distribution, and compared between groups using Student's t test or the Mann-Whitney test, as appropriate.Categorical variables were presented as counts and percentages, and compared using the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test when expected frequencies were small.
