Abstract

Job satisfaction among Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals is critical for effective and innovative library services. As libraries shift from traditional operations to ICT-driven environments, understanding the determinants of job satisfaction gains importance. This paper synthesizes findings from 42 scholarly publications through a content-analysis approach. The study finds that job satisfaction is influenced by factors such as fair pay, recognition, autonomy, ICT competencies, supportive leadership, opportunities for growth, and positive work culture. Challenges include inadequate salaries, limited promotion avenues, workload stress, and insufficient technological infrastructure. The paper concludes that improving compensation fairness, strengthening ICT facilities, investing in continuous training, and fostering inclusive organizational environments can enhance satisfaction among LIS professionals.
