Conventional versus surgery-first approach for the management of skeletal Class III malocclusion: Report of two cases
Abstract
Skeletal Class III malocclusions are often readily identifiable but pose significant therapeutic challenges.Treatment plans vary widely based on patient age and the severity of the condition. When considering orthognathic surgery, the decision to prioritize orthodontic therapy or surgical intervention is debatable with its distinct indications, advantages, and disadvantages. This report presents two cases: one treated with conventional bi-jaw orthognathic surgery and another managed via a surgery-first approach with mandibular setback.
