Familial inheritance of dentin dysplasia type-I: A case report
Abstract
Dentin dysplasia (DD) is an autosomal dominant, rare inherited genetic developmental anomaly. This report describes a case of dentin dysplasia type I involving three successive generations within a single family. Clinical and radiographic features were diagnostic of dentin dysplasia type I that differentiates it from other dentin developmental disorders. The patient primarily presented with tooth mobility and premature exfoliation. Management was directed towards preserving the remaining dentition and maintaining optimal oral function through a conservative, multidisciplinary approach.
