Abstract

The advances and challenges in cybersecurity and AI present a unique challenge to educators in all fields, especially technical fields like Engineering Technology. The graduates of these programs need to be ready to face the challenges of both the manufacturing industry and the vast changes being introduced into this industry.Educators must determine what skills and knowledge are vital and prepare the students for these areas. In addition to predicting and preparing for the advances in these areas, educators have the added challenge of this preparation, curriculum development, obtaining new equipment, and developing assessments.Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the realm of cybersecurity presents a dual-edged sword, capable of serving as both a guardian and a threat. This paper explores the multifaceted role of AI within cybersecurity, examining scenarios where AI can act as either a beneficial or malicious entity.Cybersecurity threats traditionally involve individuals attacking organizations to inflict damage or deploying programs executing predetermined If/Then statements.Organizations typically fortify their defenses to counter such basic hacking attempts. However, the advent of AI Session ETD 455
