Abstract

While the vast majority of returnees (92 per cent) reported intending to remain in their current location, this represents a two percentage point decline compared to the December 2024 survey. This decrease is driven by returnees from Iran, who were six per centage points less likely than those from Pakistan to report plans to stay (88 per cent vs. 94 per cent). They were also four percentage points more likely to express intentions to move out of Afghani‑stan (six per cent vs. two per cent).
