Abstract

Generalised violence in Afghanistan has largely subsided since the takeover by the de facto authorities in 2021. However, certain groups now face heightened risks of human rights violations and other abuses. Those most affected include women and girls, former officials of the previous Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, members of the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces, as well as civil society actors, human rights defenders, and journalists.
