Abstract

Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are a global health concern, exacerbated by rising antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This study introduces Elixir, a novel aromatherapy formulation combining Eucalyptus globulus and lemon essential oils, designed as a complementary therapy for respiratory health. The blend was prepared through direct oil mixing and evaluated for antibacterial activity using the agar diffusion method. Results showed measurable inhibition zones against selected bacterial strains, suggesting synergistic antimicrobial potential. The novelty of this work lies in combining eucalyptus and lemon oils into a stable formulation aimed at both antimicrobial action and respiratory symptom relief. These findings highlight Elixir as a promising natural alternative that warrants further quantitative and clinical evaluation.
