¿Qué es necesario saber para adquirir y operar un dron en Colombia con fines cartográficos?

Within the framework of the agreement between the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC) and the company Cuatro Conceptos S.A.S (4C), a technical note is presented aimed at establishing guidelines for the acquisition and operation of drones for cartographic purposes in Colombia. The document outlines the historical evolution of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), as well as their introduction and development in the country. It describes the technical classification and categories defined by the Colombian Aeronautical Regulations (RAC 100). It also analyzes the national regulatory framework, highlighting the operational requirements, spatial restrictions, and necessary authorizations. Finally, technical considerations for equipment selection are presented, with the aim of offering a comprehensive guide that promotes safe, efficient, and compliant adoption in accordance with current regulations.
