Abstract

Diversity is part of human nature. So, society needs to offer conditions for people with disabilities or other specific needs to act effectively, fully and autonomously. Dyslexia imposes difficulties in different language uses. Considering current popularity of smartphones, this work aims to investigate which accessibility features present in Android can be useful for people with dyslexia. A bibliographical research identified 13 useful accessibility features for people with dyslexia. Then, a content analysis of the Android 11 interface on a Samsung S20 identified 8 of the foreseen features, plus 1 other unanticipated feature. The availability of accessibility features on Android devices present in daily lives of many people can promote inclusion of people with dyslexia in the contemporary society.
