Abstract

Having its first edition (2018) published only in printed, the book “Analysis of digital discourse: Subject, space, memory and archive ”, by Cristiane Dias, thinks digital not as technological support for online environments, in their devices multiple screens, touch screens and keys, but as “materiality”, that is, as discursiveness. This is how, in understanding thespeeches “through” digital and not “in” digital, the heart of the investigation about the forms of subjection of the beginning of the 21st century is apprehended: in analyzes that lead to reflections on the processes of constitution of the senses, broadly, determined by the digital. In its search for material, not reduced to the empirical, Dias did not it matters what smartphones can do in practice, but as they are meant, that is, “by the speeches that mean them as objects of inclusion, status (...) in social processes in a divided society ”(p. 40). The reflection is about the effects of the relationship subject with everyday devices, such as social networks, games and applications (“portable logical systems” according to Pêcheux, which transform into “digital logical systems”, in Dias). Not having leftin an electronic book is thus one more affirmation of the “order” of the digital.
