Abstract

Structure et totalité deals with local and national epistemological tradition and specificity in the constitution of a science. There would be a culturally located episteme? It is in this way that Patrick Sériot problematizes the structuralism of the Prague Circle, in the period between, especially in view of the work of the Russians R. Jakobson, N. Troubetzkoy and P. Savickij, whose central notions that they develop, that of structure linked to the totality and, in turn, to the organic, are postulated that cannot be considered merely as intermediate linksin the history of linguistics, in linear evolution to Saussure. It follows decentralization of Structuralism, since it is not limited to to Paris in the 1960s, as advocated by Dosse (2003), for example.
