A linguagem como fator estruturante de trajetórias tecnológicas

The current work seeks to illustrate and annalyse what is the role of language, as a social technology, in structuring paradigms and technological trajectories and how language supports the economic agents decision-making process in face of the uncertainty that is inherent to the innovative activities. Therefore, a theoretical multidisciplinary review was carried out in a way that it was possible to lay a foundation to the analysis of two selected arcticles, to make the demonstration of the importance of an understanding of organizational language of the firm viable so, from there, some phenomena may be comprehended in their proper depths. From this sxploratory exercise, it is possible to understand that language is a prism through which the agents orient their points of view of the world. therefore, language has a role in conducting the decision-making process and, in doing so, influence later technological trajectories through the existing linguistic framework in the organizational field. Thus, language may be one of the factors responsible for the technological lock-in in firms.
