Abstract

In recent years, there has been a shift in the incidence of HIV infection in the world, including in Russia, towards older age groups of the population. According to the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) The prevalence of HIV infection among older age groups is constantly increasing and it is expected that by 2030 about 70% of people infected with HIV will be aged 50 years or older. Objective: аnalysis of the incidence of HIV infection among patients aged 45 years and older in Russia in 2017–2024. Materials and methods. Based on information from the Federal statistical observation form No. 61 and Rosstat data for 2017–2024, a retrospective analysis of the incidence of HIV infection among patients aged 45–59 and 60 years and older was conducted. Results. The incidence of HIV infection in Russia decreased 1.6 times from 2017 to 2024 and amounted to 33.0 per 100,000 population in 2024. At the same time, in the structure of newly diagnosed HIV-infected patients, the proportion of patients aged 45–59 and ≥ 60 years began to increase, the total proportion of which reached 36.1% in 2024. As a result, the incidence of HIV infection among patients aged 45–59 years in 2024 reached 51.0, and at the age of ≥ 60 years – 8.1 per 100 thousand of the corresponding population, and the total growth rates were 34.2 and 50%. Conclusion. In recent years, a decrease in the incidence of HIV infection in Russia has been accompanied by an increase in the proportion of patients aged 45 years and older, which leads to an increase in the incidence of HIV infection in these groups.
