Abstract

The review discusses the application of oaks (Quercus) in cosmetology, focusing on the chemical and biological properties of their extracts. Oaks, rich in tannins, flavonoids, and other phenolic compounds, exhibit strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial activity, making them valuable raw materials in cosmetic production. The article presents the use of extracts from oak bark, leaves, and acorns in skin care products, particularly in anti-aging, toning, and treatments supporting the management of dermatological issues. Potential research directions on other properties of oaks that may find application in natural cosmetics are also discussed.
