Time-Series Modeling for Financial Forecasting and Sales Variability Analysis
Abstract
Abstract This study presents a unified time-series modeling framework for financial forecasting and sales variability analysis. Financial and sales datasets often contain nonlinear relationships, seasonal patterns, and irregular fluctuations, which limit the effectiveness of single-model approaches. The proposed framework integrates statistical methods with machine learning techniques to capture both structured and complex temporal patterns. The methodology includes data preprocessing, feature engineering, and a hybrid forecasting model that combines linear trend representation with nonlinear pattern learning. The model is evaluated using financial and sales datasets with varying temporal characteristics. Performance is assessed through standard error metrics, including mean absolute error, root mean square error, and mean absolute percentage error. The results show lower prediction errors and more consistent forecasts compared with standalone statistical and machine learning models. The framework maintains stable performance across different forecasting horizons, including short-term and long-term predictions. The proposed system supports integrated analysis of financial and sales data within a single structure. This capability provides a consistent basis for planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation. The findings indicate that a combined modeling approach offers a reliable solution for time-series forecasting tasks in business environments.
