Abstract

"The Digital Earth implements a virtual globe with properties such as multiscale and 3D-representation. The realization of multiscale occurs through the implementation of algorithms and models for the components of the Digital Earth. A comparison of Euclidean and geographical spaces is given. The history of scaling approaches dates back to the last century. The essence of mathematical approaches is considered, as well as the history of their origin. Special attention is paid to the ways of representing three-dimensional objects."
