Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a structured counseling intervention, the Life Acceptance and Management Promotion (LAMP) program, designed to enhance the Professional Quality of Life among healthcare workers caring for the elderly in the Philippines and the United States. Using the Quality-of-Life Scale for Health Workers, the study assesses key dimensions including compassion satisfaction, perceived support, burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and moral distress. The quasi-experimental research involved pretest and posttest evaluations of 80 participants from care facilities managed by religious congregations. Findings indicate increased compassion satisfaction and perceived support post-intervention, with a concurrent decline in burnout levels. While changes were not statistically significant, the observed trends suggest the program?s practical utility in supporting healthcare professionals' well-being. The study advocates the implementation of psychosocial support strategies to foster a sustainable caregiving environment.
