Abstract

The Handwritten OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a vital technology to convert the handwritten content into a structured textual format suitable for academic documentation. This is the process of recognition and interpretation of handwritten characters from images. In this project, we target OCR for the Devanagari script, specifically aiming to accurately identify handwritten characters. The workflow of the OCR system is that it preprocesses the input images, performs character segmentation and then classifies each embedding into the respective character class. To deal with noise other post-processing methods are proposed.
