Continuous Improvement for the External Auditors' Plan to Provide Cooperative Advisory Prediction Opinion Concerning Business Disruption Risk (A Perspective of Going Concern Opinion Between the Past and the Present)
Abstract
In the new era of business developments, the auditing profession requires continuous improvement for the auditing plan to provide cooperative advisory prediction opinion concerning business disruption, where it needs to expand beyond fraud detection and error interpretations. Therefore, auditors must currently consider the going-concern prediction opinion a significant task, planning for all possible advantages, and disadvantages that may affect it and lead to business disruption, subsequently, providing advice to businesses and investors. In this paper, I present the most significant predictors expected to affect the probability of going concern and related business disruption, which are notable across many different environments. I used seven regression models to answer the paper's major question around the need to continuously improve the auditing profession and help auditors provide cooperative advisory opinions. Results of running the regression models support my view that auditors must advise businesses to consider the riskiest issues in the environments they plan to operate in or continue operating in. These issues are the unseen obstacles that are a significant cause of business disruption, the high percentage rate of total business disruption and going-concern failure in the environment, the governments' evil practices of asking and accepting bribes in return for illegal and unethical favours and allowances to businesses and investors, and the technological disruptions affecting businesses in the environment.
