Trump's Board of Peace: International Organization or Sole Proprietorship?
Abstract

Abstract (≈100 words)

This commentary examines the legal nature and governance structure of President Donald J. Trump’s Board of Peace (BoP), established following U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803 to support post-conflict reconstruction and stabilization in Gaza. While Resolution 2803 envisions the BoP as a transitional international administration with legal personality, the BoP Charter concentrates extraordinary authority in a single chairman, blurring the line between multilateral institution and personal enterprise. The article argues that this concentration of power departs sharply from established models of international organizations, raising concerns about legitimacy, sustainability, and compliance with international law. It concludes that, absent structural amendments, the BoP more closely resembles a sole proprietorship cloaked in international form.
