Abstract

Google Gemini AI has become a tool indispensable for researchers. It is now ubiquitous: It is a super tool for super users. The concept of "garbage-in, garbage-out" in statistics is similar for AI large language models. The AI, Google Gemini in particular, will search for and attempt to make sense from the questions by which it is prompted. The more detailed and nuanced the questions, the more detailed and nuanced will be the overview from Gemini. In this encounter, after my first question, each of my remaining questions were based on information generated by Gemini from my previous question; moreover, when Gemini is properly prompted it can be very helpful in scientific discovery; as a large language model it is fully engaged by Socratic inquiry. The AI appears to have a sense who it is dealing with-a credulous beginner versus a person who is bringing knowledge and experience to the encounter. Therefore, the five questions that I asked Gemini on January 23, 2026 were escalating in complexity and intensity, fashioned from each response that I read generated by Gemini. All the unedited raw overviews that Gemini wrote are presented in Tables 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Everything that I wrote exists outside of the tables. The predictions and solutions offered by Gemini are eye-opening. If male college student enrollment declines are not corrected by public policy and cultural mores reversed, very soon the economic outcome for Generation Z men and women could be catastrophic.
